   Program Description

The Cosmetic Esthetician program is designed to offer esthetics training for entry-level students. Completion of the program prepares students to sit for the Esthetics licensure examination given by the Georgia State Board of Cosmetology.  Once licensed, the student is able to work in a variety of settings including beauty salons, spas, health clubs, cosmetics stores as well as plastic surgeons’ and dermatologist’s offices.  There are many other rewarding career paths such as a Clinical Esthetician, Waxing Specialist, Brow Specialist, Makeup Artist, Manufacturer Representative, Cosmetics Buyer, Esthetics Writer or Editor, Cosmetic Chemist and Oncology-Trained Esthetician to name a few.

If you are interested in the field of cosmetology, but would like to specialize in the study of skin care, then an esthetics career may be perfect for you.

During your training you will become skilled in skin analysis, facials, advanced treatments, ingredients, exfoliation treatments, body wraps and polishes, foot reflexology, aromatherapy, spray tanning and spa treatments as well as hair removal, lash tinting and makeup application.  You will also be introduced to skin care services such as Microcurrent, Sonic Ultra Scrubber, Microdermabrasion, Infusion Peel, Oxygen Machine, Radio Frequency, High Frequency and Led Light Therapy.

Furthermore, students learn basic business skills used in operated a spa, which include business management practices, public relations and career development.
