Lanier Technical College students, faculty, and staff can borrow library materials by presenting a current LTC ID card or another form of photo identification.
Books in the general collection check out for 28 days, with two automatic renewals unless the book is placed on hold by another patron. All books are due by the end of the semester and may impact the general check out period. Course reserves may be checked out for the day only and must be returned before the library closes. Failure to do so will result in a $1 fine per day.
It is the responsibility of the patron to ensure the return of library items in a timely manner. Overdue notices are sent both to Lanier Tech emails and to personal home addresses. If items are not returned after repeated warnings, a hold will be placed on the patron’s record. This hold will affect grades, registration, transcript requests, and graduation status. The items must be returned or the replacement costs and processing fees paid in full for the hold to be removed.
Any item that is lost or damaged beyond repair while checked out will result in a hold placed on the patron’s record for the replacement cost of the items. Replacement costs are the cost of the book at the time of purchase or a minimum of $10.00. A $2.00 processing fee is also charged. All replacement costs and fees must be paid in full to have the hold removed from the student’s records.
The Lanier Tech Library has cooperative agreements with many other libraries. Students with ID cards can use the services and check out books at these libraries statewide. More information about these agreements is found in the library orientation. If an item is needed which is not available from one of our partner libraries, students, faculty, and staff can email Kathryn Thompson at email@example.com to request the item. There are no fees for inter-library loans.
