Alisha Adams serves as Simulation Operations Coordinator for Lanier Technical College for Allied Health. In this position, she oversees the activities of the campus Simulation Center, which gives students the opportunity to practice clinical skills, develop communication abilities, and demonstrate clinical competence. Using patient simulators and, standardized patients (patient actors), the Center provides the opportunity to practice techniques and diagnosis in a supportive environment prior to treating real patients.
Alisha Adams most recently worked as an Adjunct Instructor for the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Department for Lanier Technical College at the Oakwood Campus. Prior to that, she worked as an Adjunct Instructor for the Simulation Center at the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine – GA Campus (GA-PCOM); Lead Instructor for EMTs and Advanced EMTS at Gwinnett Technical, and a Paramedic for Gwinnet Medical Center at Duluth and Lawrenceville Campus. She has also worked in Simulation for more than eight years at sites such as Lanier Technical College, Gwinnett Technical College, Mount Carmel Hospitals, VA Hospitals, and Ohio State University. Alongside Simulation she has been in EMS for more than eight years for 911 and mutual aid agencies in Warren County, Montgomery County, and Butler County in Ohio.
Alisha Adams earned an Associate’s degree in Paramedicine from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, Ohio; Paramedicine Licensure for National Registry and the States for Ohio & Georgia; Licensed Medical Massage Therapist Licensure from the Dayton School of Medical Massage, Kettering, Ohio, and STNA certification for Nurse Aide Care, Kettering, Ohio.
