Basically, articulation agreements are formalized partnerships that document a pathway or pathways between two or more colleges or universities and their academic programs. These partnerships have several advantages for students. For instance, through these agreements, students can apply credits earned in specific programs at LTC toward advanced standing into a specific program at another institution. Therefore, students make a smooth transition from one institution to another and minimize duplication of coursework.
An articulated degree, diploma, or technical certificate of credit awarded by Lanier Technical College is not a joint or dual award. Rather, the receiving institution agrees to accept appropriate LTC awards and/or coursework in lieu of the receiving institution’s requirements. Each award will bear the names, seals, and signatures of each participating institution.
Programs at LTC are not designed for transfer. Articulation differs from transfer of academic credit in that articulated awards are accepted in their entirety by the receiving institution. The specific number of program credit hours and/or other requirements for eligibility are established by the receiving institution and outlined in the signed articulation agreement.
